Eat on a Budget

College is a time of discovery and learning new things, and as many students are quick to learn, it is not easy living on their own. One lesson college teaches many students is how to live on a budget, so I am here to give my rundown on some cheap eats! 


U-top it- U-top it is a family-owned business that loves their customers, with a majority of dishes running under $10. U-Top it is the best place to go to meet any craving. Throughout the week, U-top it also runs deals allowing their customers to enjoy all you can fill $6 yogurt on Tuesdays and their many other daily deals.  


Chopstix express- Though I have only eaten here once there is nothing that can beat the price of this Chinese takeout restaurant. Though not known for quality, this restaurant is known for its low price point and quick convenience.  


Jimmyz Hamburger- This burger restaurant is right next to the Colorado Mesa campus, allowing students to walk from campus to the building in less than 10 minutes, along with its convenience, this restaurant holds burgers for under $10, providing a good meal and an easy walk.

Easy Frozen Yogurt Recipe

  If you don’t feel like leaving your dorm, apartment, or house or don’t have the funds to buy a sweet treat here is a simple recipe to make your own frozen yogurt. For this recipe you will only need 3 ingredients: plain yogurt (or any yogurt of your choice), any frozen fruit, and honey.   To make about 2 to 3 servings here’s what you'll need :   12oz of frozen fruit   10 oz (about 1 ¼ cups) of yogurt   2 tablespoons of honey   You’ll start by combining all the ingredients in a blender or food processor. Blend for 2-3 minutes and then taste it. If you feel that it needs to be sweeter, add more honey. Once it's to your liking, put it in an airtight container for about 2-4 hours. When you’re ready to eat it, serve it on its own or add your favorite toppings!
