All Things Sweet
As a college student, I know a thing or two about needing a sweet treat. Whether it's a reward to celebrate a small win or to help motivate my friends and I to get through the week. Luckily, there are several places to get a sweet treat close to campus. Sugar & Ice is right below the Lucero apartments and Dairy Queen is right across the street on the corner of North and 7th St. Then you have the rest of your chain fast food places like Sonic, Freddy's, Chick Fil A, Crumbl, and more. But there are hidden local places throughout Grand Junction that are not so close to campus such as Graff Dairy, La Michoacana GJ, and U Top It to name a few.
Recently I stopped by U Top It to get lunch and a sweet treat. They offer quesabirria tacos on Sunday and honestly, they were some of the best I have had in this town. They had a small variety of frozen yogurt flavors, but they featured a new flavor the day I went, horchata. After two quesabirria orders, a soda, and a 16oz of frozen yogurt, it came out around $50. I would go again to get something other than a chain fast food and for the adventure, but as a college student it was a bit pricey. But if you're lucky enough to get a ride, this place is worth the trip with your friends or significant other!
